Yesterday Rubi underwent surgery for a broken paw. The fracture turned out to be very complicated – the bones were displaced and difficult to align properly. Despite this, the doctor did everything in her power so that Rubi could walk and enjoy a normal life in the future.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of specialized equipment available locally, it was not possible to perform a full anastomosis like in advanced orthopedic clinics. The bones were fused as best as possible under the available conditions and now it’s all in Rubi’s paws… and in his body, which has to mobilize to fight for fitness.
Fortunately, the kitten feels well after the surgery – he is calm, eats with appetite and rests. He is a smug, gentle male cat, who, despite suffering, has not lost his trust in humans. Now he just needs time, care and lots of love, which he will not lack. By the way Rubi was also neutered 🙂

Dear friends, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support for Rubi.
Thanks to you, this brave male cat has a chance for a new life. He is feeling better and better every day. He is still taking an antibiotic, and at the clinic he underwent a series of inhalations, which helped him catch his breath and relieved the pain. His broken paw has already been immobilized – and the doctor will soon perform the necessary surgery.
Rubi is slowly returning to strength. You can see that he no longer suffers as much as when Gosia and Kuba – two wonderful people who did not pass indifferently by the suffering animal – found him. They were the ones who saved Lynx from certain death on the street, and then did everything in their power to provide him with help – they moved heaven and earth to give him a chance.
Thank you for being with us and that together we can change the fate of creatures like Rubi.

Rubi was simply supposed to die on the street. Quietly, in pain, unnoticed by anyone. But a miracle happened in his story – he came across people who did not pass by indifferently.
Polish tourists, Gosia and Kuba, found Rubi lying inert, barely alive. The young, just 8-month-old male cat did not have the strength to move. He just stared with wide-open eyes full of pain and fear. What had happened? Did he fall from a height? Was he hit by a motorcycle or car? Did someone intentionally hurt him? That’s what Gosia and Kuba didn’t know. But of one thing they were sure – leaving Rubi on the street would mean death for him.
They took him to a hotel, fed him, kept him warm and began desperately seeking help. But the country, where homeless cats die every day, knows no mercy. Foundations, animal lovers, social media groups – everyone refused.
Finally, there was hope. After a long search, a woman was found who agreed to take Rubi. Gosia and Kuba breathed a sigh of relief. Together with Rubi, they gave the woman a large supply of food and money for a vet visit.
But their joy did not last long.
The woman who took the kitten, the food and the money dropped Rubi off again the same day on the street, in a place where there are a lot of stray cats, because there they are fed by one of the foundations. Rubi was sitting in the bushes. Curled up, scared. He struggled to breathe and had no strength, but tried to crawl, hide somewhere, run away. Kuba and Gosia, shocked by what they saw, took Rubi again. Only they had a plane the next morning, they were already leaving Little and could not take Rubi with them. They knew they didn’t have much time. Then they contacted me, begging for help for Rubi.
When I got the message from Kuba, I couldn’t refuse. I took Rubi and promised that I would do whatever I could to help him. And that for sure the male cat will not end up on the street again.
Rubi is already after the first medical consultation. His condition is very serious. He has a broken back paw – with displacement of bones. To put the paw back together, surgery will be necessary. In addition, Rubi’s whole body is sore, as after a severe generalized trauma. The kitten avoids any movement. She even has difficulty fully opening her muzzle. Fortunately, there seems to be no serious internal injuries directly threatening life. The blood test results are bad and indicate extreme exhaustion. Therefore, Rubi’s overall condition must be stabilized before surgery can be performed. Without this, the male cat is unlikely to survive the operation. It’s a race against time.
The doctor gave him intravenous painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs and an antibiotic. He put Rubi under oxygen to make him stronger. The next few days will be crucial for Rubi. I have to be at the clinic with him every day for medication administration and examination. Once the doctor assesses that it is safe for the male cat, surgery will have to be done and the broken paw will have to be put back together.
