Last Friday night Ben passed away 💔.
He was with me for almost half a year – half a year full of care, hope and struggle for a better tomorrow. His life on the street was full of suffering – invisible to the world, sick, but nevertheless thirsty for human love. When he finally felt warmth and security, fate proved cruel. My heart broke, because Ben was already so close to a new, better life – one he should have had from the very beginning.
He was an older kitten, but he fought valiantly for his health. He required further diagnostics and treatment, which is why I was so anxious to take him to Poland, where he could receive the best care. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it… 😢.
However, I believe that Benio – because that’s what I called him – was really happy at least for a while. He felt loved and safe. I hope that’s what he took with him on his last journey.

Today the doctor sewed up the wounds. Ben was very brave.
Unfortunately, the cat still has a breathing problem, he is very tired with a cough and a purulent runny nose. He has to have nebulization in the clinic and antibiotic drips for a while yet.
He’s an older cat so the treatment must be well suited to his age and weak body, but I know he’s in good hands.

Dear friends, thanks to the funds we raised Ben was thoroughly examined by doctors.
Unfortunately, the kitten is very sick. In addition to the wounds on his back, he has a breathing problem. He has purulent discharge in his nose and eyes.
Ben is already under the care of a doctor. Today he received an antibiotic drip, the doctor also gave him a nebulization, cleaned the wound and put a new dressing. Every day I will leave him for a few hours at the clinic. The wounds on his back will be stitched, but for now there is still not enough skin in that area.
I hope this poor little thing will make it and in a while he will be a happy healthy kitten. And all thanks to you ❤

Thanks to you, Ben will have daily dressing changes and wound cleaning. In addition, the kitten must take intravenous antibiotic because the wounds are infected. In addition, the kitten is very sick. He has a purulent runny nose and a breathing problem because his nasal discharge is backed up. I have to put drops in his nose twice a day, 2 drops in each nostril, which is not easy, but Ben seems to understand that I have to do it for his health because he doesn’t protest too much. He also has drops for his eyes because they also fester heavily. He is unfortunately a very sick kitty 😞

There is complete silence in the area, except for the quiet murmuring coming from the dumpster. I walk over to check the source of the sound and freeze. I can’t believe my eyes. The kitten I see has huge wounds on its back that look like holes. A large number of flies and insects are flying around him, and they don’t even wait for the poor thing to make a living. They sit in clouds on his body and feed on this defenseless creature.
I carefully removed the kitten from the container and examined it more closely. In places where there are open wounds on his body, the flies have already managed to lay eggs, from which larvae are slowly hatching. His eyes are very red and swollen, with pus oozing out of their corners. The toddler looks very sick. Without much thought, I take him in my arms and rush to the clinic. I know that he needs to be seen by a doctor as soon as possible.
After a thorough examination, the vet determined that the wounds on Ben’s body were man-made. Someone must have catapulted him with something like a cable. In addition, the kitten has had a fractured sternum for a long time, which has begun to fuse crookedly. The toxins secreted by the maggots lingering in the body have led his body to ruin, so that the poor guy has a very serious problem with his eyes, and the whole body is slowly starting to be overrun by infection. Unfortunately, the kitten is in critical condition and every moment could be the last.
His only chance is immediate, intensive treatment. Ben’s wounds must be thoroughly cleaned every day, and antibiotics and strong painkillers must be administered. Without this, Ben will not survive. The doctor has removed the larvae lingering in his body, but more are hatching all the time, as the worms have already managed to lay eggs. The whole procedure must be repeated at least once a day if it is to have any effect. All this unfortunately costs a lot, and I am not able to pay for it myself. So far I’ve managed to pay for the initial tests, but unfortunately it’s not enough….
I am very afraid for this little one, I would like to help him, but I know that I will not be able to do it alone. Dear friends, I ask you very much. At the moment you are the only hope for this male cat. Please help me to save his life.
