Nel’s body sadly gave up… Hopefully she is in a better place right now💔

June 24, 2025

During the night, Nel passed away…😞

The tiny one fought until the very end, but her injuries were too extensive. She no longer had the strength to continue fighting.

However, thanks to you, she was able to spend the last days of her life surrounded by care and love. There were people by her side who loved her with all their hearts and made sure that each of her days were peaceful and pain-free.

These are extremely difficult moments for me… Each new charge takes a place in my heart, and when he passes away – he is left with a wound that does not heal for a long time.

Dear friends, Nel’s condition remains very serious and her life is still in danger.

Yesterday, this brave little girl ate a little bit of high-calorie wet food. It’s a tiny but extremely important step forward – a sign that Nel is fighting and that there is still hope.

Despite this, I still have to feed her at home with a syringe, and she is being given daily IVs at the clinic. We are doing everything we can to help her.

I am very worried about her, but I believe she will make it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support and kind words for this little cat.

I don’t even want to think about what she went through when she was lying helpless on the pavement… and what could have happened if I hadn’t taken her away from there.

Nel is still fighting for her life and mobility. Every day spent in the clinic means more costs, and my funds are dwindling.

After the accident, Nel has a broken pelvis and serious neurological problems – her hind legs are almost limp, but she is beginning to regain some feeling in them. There is still hope that she will recover with time. To aid nerve regeneration and prevent muscle atrophy, the doctor performs specialized massages and stimulation of her legs every day.

This is a very delicate process that must be performed by a doctor, because any incorrect movement could worsen the cat’s condition or displace the fracture. That’s why I have to take Nel to the clinic, where she receives safe rehabilitation that I couldn’t provide for her myself.

If her condition does not improve, she will not be able to undergo the surgery that gives her a chance at an independent life. Without it, Nel may remain disabled forever… and even then, it is not certain that her body will be able to fight on.

I beg you for help. Nel deserves to live. She still has a future ahead of her—we just need to help her get there.

Don’t be indifferent. Every dollar, every share can change her fate.

He didn’t stop. He didn’t help. The person who hit Nel just drove away. To him, it was just another stray cat. Dirty, flea-ridden. Not even worth stopping or looking back at. Because there are too many stray cats anyway.

Cruel thinking. Indifference. Lack of empathy and conscience.

The woman who had given the kitten water earlier saw the accident. She called me and told me what had happened.

When I saw Nel, she was lying motionless on the pavement, covered in her own excrement. A tiny kitten, maybe two months old. There were traces of blood on her mouth. When she saw me approaching, she raised her head uncertainly and tried to run away. But her hind legs wouldn’t obey her. So she just crawled helplessly along the pavement for a moment, dragging them behind her, but soon she collapsed from exhaustion.

I picked Nel up as gently as I could, wrapped her in a blanket, and took her to the clinic.

After a thorough examination, the doctor gave me the diagnosis. Nel has a broken pelvis, hypothermia, and suspected concussion and spinal cord injury. Fortunately, her spine is intact and her legs, although completely limp, are slightly responsive to stimuli. This gives us a glimmer of hope.

Nel was given mannitol for brain swelling, strong painkillers, steroids, and vitamins. After these medications, the little one fell asleep, and I think that’s a good sign. But this is only the beginning. Nel needs to receive medications and IV fluids every day. And as soon as she feels better and her condition is stable, her broken pelvis will need to be operated on.

I am fighting for this little one with all my strength. For her life. For a miracle. But the treatment and surgery are extremely expensive, and despite my best intentions, I cannot cover the costs on my own. That is why I am asking you urgently—if you can, please help. Help save little Nel, and I will do everything I can to help her recover and find a good, loving home.
