POZOSTAŁY CZAS:
Thanks to your help, it was possible to stabilize the condition of Sky! Thank you!
June 3, 2025
Dear friends, we have good news about Sky.
The little one’s condition is stable. The diarrhea, which was previously bloody, has thankfully subsided. Sky is drinking milk from a bottle – not yet the amounts that a kitten of her age should take, but the most important thing is that she has a suckling reflex.
She still has some time of treatment ahead of her – she has to take medication, but today I heard something from the doctor that gave me hope. She said Sky was very lucky… The hours have weighed in.
Now everything depends on her. She must take advantage of this gift from fate and fight with all her tiny strength. Keep your fingers crossed for her. 🐾

Among the remains of old blankets, on a dirty and cold bed, lay something tiny… I came closer and froze. It was a kitten. A newborn. Still with the placenta glued to its body. Without a mother. Without warmth. Without hope. At first I thought it was already dead, that’s how cold, silent and completely motionless it was. But soon after, I realized that a spark of life was still smoldering faintly in this inert kitten. Then I immediately named it Sky. I didn’t want it to be another nameless feline newborn dying on the street.
There was no pregnant cat nearby or one that had just given birth. No cat that could be its mother. It’s impossible for a cat mom to leave her baby like this. And yet Sky was here, all alone. Abandoned and helpless. Dying.
Someone had thrown her out. As soon as Sky came into the world, someone took her from her mother and mercilessly threw her into the street. To a certain, horrible death. Seconds counted. I knew I had to act immediately because the kitten was dying.

I took Sky straight to the clinic. The doctor admitted us immediately. She immediately cut the umbilical cord and removed it along with the placenta. Then she put the baby in an incubator under oxygen and gave her IVs.
After a few hours Sky felt much better and I was able to take her home. It seemed that the greatest danger had passed. But it turned out that this was only the beginning of the fight.
It all happened yesterday. This morning Sky got severe bloody diarrhea. She was very weak and dehydrated. Again I went with her to the clinic. The doctor once again gave her a drip and medication. It also turned out that under cutting off the umbilical cord, inflammation had developed around the navel and pus had begun to accumulate. The doctor cleaned the area, removed all the pus that had collected there, and administered an antibiotic to stop the infection from developing. Then she put Sky back in the incubator under oxygen.
Now Sky’s most difficult days lay ahead. Everything depends on them. She has to have a daily antibiotic and IVs. Every day she has to spend a certain amount of time under oxygen. I tremble about whether we can win this battle for life.
I ask you from the bottom of my heart – help me save this little one. There are many cats in my care. Too many for me to be able to pay all the medical costs alone. Every day I fight for their lives, their health, their dignity – but without support it is a fight beyond my strength.
Every penny matters. Every sharing can make someone else join in saving this little one.
Please help Sky survive.
