News from Meau❤️

June 4, 2025

Dear friends, many people are asking about Meau, so today a few words about this brave kitty.

Meau is feeling well. She is a little shy, but every day I try to give her more attention, tenderness and touch. Despite the fact that she is missing half a paw, she is doing really well.

Unfortunately, from time to time a small wound appears on her stump – usually when she accidentally leans against something rough. The skin in this area is still very delicate. During a recent veterinary visit, the doctor and I discussed the possibility of amputating the entire paw, but for now I’m trying my best to protect the stump to avoid injury.

A few days ago Meau was vaccinated against rabies, so an antibody test will be available in about a month. There is already someone who would very much like to give her a home… Unfortunately, we know very well how long the whole process of bringing a cat to Poland takes. Keep your fingers crossed for her ❤

Dear friends, Meau is slowly starting to cope without half of her back paw.

The exercises I have been doing with her have brought results. According to our doctor, for the sake of the cat it is better to hold off on the amputation, because it is a complicated operation with anesthesia, and Meau is still a cat baby.

Look how pretty she is ❤️ She will be a beautiful lady when she grows up❤️

Dear friends, our Meau had a dressing change today. Her paw needs to be protected, because there were abrasions while walking, which caused inflammation. Fortunately, her general condition is improving – she has an appetite, and the diarrhea, which is especially dangerous for kittens, has already subsided.

Today I spoke with the doctor about the date of the operation. The decision has not yet been made. The day after tomorrow Meau will have her blood drawn, and if the results are good, the plan is to amputate the diseased paw.

Keep your fingers crossed for our brave kitty and thank you for your support!

Dear friends, we did it!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Despite New Year’s Eve, we raised money for little Meau’s surgery. And in fact, we raised more than was needed for the operation itself! I think there will be enough for her medications and for the sterilization, which will also have to be done to Meau.

I was so afraid that over New Year’s Eve not many people would see this collection at all. But there are special people among us who helped, even on such a day… Thank you. You guys are wonderful. As soon as Meau’s condition stabilizes, she will have surgery. Keep your fingers crossed for her, because that is the most important thing now. And I will keep you updated on how the situation with Meau is going.

Thank you again for your help for this little one.

Meau got her paw cut off by some man with scissors. Sorry, it wasn’t a man. It was a heartless beast.

The poor little thing is now limping helplessly, alternately leaning on the injured and infected stump of its paw or shuffling it along the sidewalk. The stump is so long that it continues to get damaged all the time. Bone is sticking out of it. When Meau sees me approach her, she looks me straight in the eye and meows pleadingly. I know it’s a hurt cat baby crying and asking for help.

People in the neighborhood called me and told me about the mutilated kitten. Apparently, they saw the whole incident. I don’t understand why they didn’t react. Maybe out of fear? But if they had at least informed me right away, Meau wouldn’t have had to suffer so long without help and would have had a better chance of survival, since the whole incident happened almost a week ago.

The doctor says that it is necessary to amputate the stump of the paw. Not only does Meau injure it all the time when trying to walk, but an infection has already set in there, which needs to be gotten rid of as soon as possible. If this is not done the inflammation and infection will spread to the rest of the body, and unfortunately this is already a verdict for little Meau.

The doctor told me that it is impossible to operate now. First we need to stabilize her condition by giving her antibiotics, painkillers and strengthening drips. Without this, Meau will not survive the operation. It will probably take two days to stabilize her condition.

Please help me save this harmed kitten. Together we can show Meau that humans are not just heartless, cruel creatures.
