Dear friends, a tragedy has happened. After a long battle, Emily’s body gave up and the cat is no longer with us.
The baby was unfortunately too weak to win and her internal organs simply stopped working. It hasn’t fully occurred to me yet what happened. The cat had been severely weakened for several days and I knew that her condition was deteriorating, but I was deeply hopeful that the doctors would be able to save her. Unfortunately, I was mistaken.
Thank you all for being a heart to heart with Emily in her final moments. Your support was not in vain and the cat passed away peacefully.

Dear friends, Emily’s condition is critical 😔
The body is very devastated, internal organs almost do not work. The kitten has diarrhea and vomiting. I feel so sorry for her 💔 I still hope that she will make it, after all, so many good things are waiting for her in her new life.

Dear friends, a miracle happened yesterday! We raised the entire amount needed for Emily’s treatment.
I am so grateful to all the people who contributed. I was very worried about the fate of this kitten, but thanks to you Emily will be provided with everything she needs. The cat has already started intensive treatment at the clinic first thing in the morning and the doctors will do what they can to get her back to health.
Please keep your fingers crossed for this poor thing.

A tiny black kitten lies motionless on a pile of trash and debris, crushed by a long piece of bent sheet metal. At first I think that this sheet must have fallen on her and the kitten is dead, and I should take her away and bury her, so that her defenseless body will not be pecked by birds.
I crouch down next to it to push the sheet away, and then I realize two things at once that fill me with horror. The first is that there is still a spark of life smoldering in this little body. And the second is that what happened to Emily (that’s what I called her in my mind) was not an accident.
With hands shaking with fear for the little one, I extract Emily from under the crushing sheet metal.
The kitten does not protest, she is so weak that she overflows her hands. The ropes on her paws have tightened tightly and with great difficulty I manage to untangle them. I’m afraid she’ll try to escape. But Emily hugs me with confidence. Or maybe she’s just so weak that she doesn’t have the strength to do anything else?
Only at the clinic can I get a good look at her. Emily is so frighteningly thin that I don’t know how she’s staying on her feet at all. The kitty almost doesn’t move. The doctor says it’s because of the pain and because of the traumatic shock induced. And that she is so severely dehydrated and weakened that I found her basically at the last minute.
Emily was given a drip at the clinic to rehydrate and strengthen her body. The doctor also gave her strong painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs intravenously. But after that, he sent us home. They won’t do anything more for Emily at the clinic on credit, so they will only take her back when I can pay for the tests and treatment.
Emily lies on my lap and hugs me very tightly. She alternately wakes up then falls into a light restless sleep. I stroke her, feeling her fine spine and ribs clearly under my fingers. I silently promise her that no one will ever, ever hurt her this way again. But I know that without money there is nothing more I can do for Emily, and the little one will simply pass away, only that not in a dump, but here, in my lap.
I am very much asking everyone who reads this to help Emily. Any kind of help, no matter how small. She has suffered so much through human cruelty. I beg you, let’s try to make it up to her at least a little.
