Jack is proof that stray cats are still invisible to the government.

Jack is one of those cats whose story truly touches the heart.
Although he is now safe, his past was filled with pain, neglect, and loneliness.
He was found in terrible condition — skinny, with a large, oozing wound on his back. He stayed away from people and trusted no one. There was no life in his eyes, only fear and sadness.
At first, I didn’t know who he was or what he had been through. We thought he was an unneutered male, maybe a cryptorchid — his testicles couldn’t be felt. He was so fragile that even basic treatment or giving him medicine required a lot of patience and care.
It was only later, when he started slowly recovering, that I began searching for his past. I looked through photos in local cat groups, asked around… and finally, someone recognized him as “Snow” — a cat cared for by the Care for Paws foundation back in 2020. At that time, he had a big head wound. He was neutered and treated, then — following the TNR (Trap–Neuter–Return) program — released back to the streets.
Care for Paws did everything they could for him.

They cared for his health and safety, even though they were working in very hard conditions — without proper facilities, without support from the government, without shelters or any kind of systemic help. Their work is a powerful example of the strength and heart of people trying to help animals every day, even when they don’t have the tools they need.
Because it’s not the foundations that are failing — it’s the system that doesn’t exist.
There are no places where injured or sick cats can be taken. There are no government programs that support organizations in their daily fight to save lives. And there is no real concern from the authorities about the fate of homeless animals.
Jack is proof that stray cats are still invisible to the government.
Today, Jack is under my care. He still struggles with fear and health issues, but slowly, he is learning to trust. Sometimes he comes close, curls up next to me, and falls asleep — like he’s trying to forget the world for a little while.
I dream of sending him to Poland, where he can find a loving home, work with a behaviorist, and receive proper veterinary care. Jack deserves a peaceful life — and I will do everything I can to make that happen.
Jack is not just a cat. He is a living reminder of why change is so needed. A reminder that foundations shouldn’t be left on their own. And that every life matters — even one that someone once thought was “ready to be released.”

Dear friends, do you remember Jack? I took him off the street with a huge wound on his back and a scar on his head. This poor cat had been through a lot in his life, which, combined with homelessness, had taken a heavy toll on his psyche.
The treatment was very difficult and long, and it continues to this day. Administering medication and treating his wounds and skin lesions was nothing short of a miracle, but slowly everything changed.
Today, I am able to give Jack his medication in the form of a tablet and liquid directly into his mouth. He also allows me to treat his skin lesions, but he has set boundaries that I do not cross.
When I sit on the couch, he comes and lies down next to me. He cuddles up to me. It moves me deeply.
Now I’m just waiting to see the joy in his eyes because there is still sadness there😞

Dear friends, it’s been a long time since there was news about Jack, so today I have some new information for you!
Yesterday I took him for a vaccination, but unfortunately it didn’t happen – Jack got very stressed. Our cat is not fond of being touched by force and then reacts by scratching and biting, pulls out, so our doctor decided not to force the situation. He has been beaten by humans many times so he is a cat with a huge trauma.
By the way, I wanted to check whether Jack had testicular problems, so today, in order to avoid additional stress, he was given a short anesthetic for the test. Unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed – the testicles did not come off.
It is likely that Torcik will have to undergo surgery, but I will still consult with our vet. The good news is that he was finally able to be vaccinated 😊.

Jack is still still learning how to play with humans 😊
This is a cat, which met a very cruel fate. Life on the street has left him with scars not only on his body but also on his psyche. The physical ones have already healed, but the mental ones will remain with him for a long time 😞
Despite the unpleasant experiences, Jack, like any cat, needs love and knows how to show it ❤️ You just have to accept his difference and love him as he is ❤️🐱

Jack is a very nice but stubborn cat 🙂 Little by little he is getting better, which makes me very happy. He rests a lot, sometimes takes a walk around the apartment and looks at places he doesn’t know yet.
The wound on his back is healing nicely, the inflammation has decreased. He is still getting antibiotic drips and a painkiller.
Yesterday he started playing with the cat rod for the first time 😊. I will try to make a video and show this handsome boy in action.
Dear all of you thank you very much, the male cat got a chance, and I want his life to start again from this moment. Without pain, fear and people who hurt him for so long. You are wonderful ❤️

Dear friends I have great news! Thanks to your commitment to Jack’s case, we were able to raise money for his treatment and he has another appointment today. The doctor has to clean the wound and give intravenous antibiotic and painkillers. He has a long treatment ahead of him because the wound was contaminated and inflammation appeared. I hope that the male cat will recover quickly and I will be able to find him a loving home.
I was very worried about this poor guy, after all, he has already been through so much in life. Now he deserves all the best and it will be possible just thanks to your help. Thank you very much for this.

Jack is a male cat who lives on the street. He is dfed by people, but systematically someone beats him, because Jack regularly has new wounds and scars from time to time.
When the last, very large wound appeared, a lady who occasionally feeds Jack called me. She asked for help. I went without a second thought. When I saw Jack, sitting on the street between parked vehicles, I just froze.
The cat has a huge, fresh wound running across his entire back. You can also see a large scar on his head. One of Jack’s ears is misshapen, it looks like it has been torn off. And a bloody discharge is pouring from the poor tomcat’s beautiful, bicolored eyes. Jack looks like he’s crying… and I also feel a huge lump in my throat that makes me unable to say a word.
Who did this to him? And does he do all the time?
The cat looks at me without moving, but I can see that he is afraid. And when I want to come closer, he breaks off violently, runs away and disappears between the buildings. I know I have made a mistake. I decide to come again later and start from the beginning.
In the evening I make another attempt to catch Jack . This time the male cat is in the stairwell, where he is said to frequent. Maybe he is just being beaten by one of the residents of this building, because he is disturbed by the presence of the cat? I do not know this, but I will try to find out. And if I succeed, I promise that he will regret what he did to Jack.
Jack walks over to the food bowl I place in front of him, but he does so slowly and limps along the ground. He looks as if he is afraid that in a moment he will feel great pain again from the strokes. But apparently hunger outweighs fear. Probably Jack thinks that cat life is just like that – sometimes someone will hit, but sometimes someone will also feed. That’s how it apparently has to be.
When I want to touch him, this time he doesn’t run away, but closes his eyes and balls his only whole ear. And I want to cry. What kind of monster must one be to hurt this beautiful, defenseless creature for pleasure???? I put my hand on his head, gently stroke and Jack begins to purr. His eyes are still closed. It’s as if he’s afraid that when he opens them, my hand will stop stroking and deal him a painful blow….
I took Jack to the clinic. The doctor confirmed that someone had been abusing him for a long time. The scar on his head and the deformation of his ear are the aftermath of being hit with some object. And the large, fresh wound on his back is 100% from pouring boiling water on him. The bloody discharge dripping from the eyes like tears could be the aftermath of a recent blow to the head, but further thorough examination is needed to determine the cause. In addition, Jack is showing signs of pain when touching almost every spot on his body, so he certainly has many other injuries.
The doctor cleaned and disinfected the wound on his back. He also gave Jack an intravenous and topical antibiotic to prevent the wound from becoming infected. He also gave him a strong painkiller. But I had to take Jack home, because that’s all the doctor agreed to do on credit. Jack needs further antibiotic therapy and strong painkillers. He also needs further thorough tests to find the cause of the bleeding from his eyes and the pain in the rest of his body. But all of this can only be done when I have the money to pay for further tests and treatment, as well as for this first, accredited visit.
I am very much asking you to help poor, humanly harmed Jack.
