Lucus is a healthy cat now! He just received his first dose of vaccination.

Dear friends, Lucus’ condition has begun to improve. The eye is significantly less abscessing.
Yesterday the doctor was already able to inspect it thoroughly. Unfortunately, Lucus can only see with his healthy eye. Probably he was already born with a defect. The diseased eye has not formed properly. If the inflammation does not return, there will be no need for removal.
Lucus’ skin also looks much better. The kitten has stopped scratching. The wounds are healing nicely.
It is thanks to you that Lucus is recovering, you are wonderful !
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all once again !

Dear friends, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping Lucus, without you I would not be able to provide treatment for the cat.
I will keep you updated on the state of Lucus health.
Once again, thank you very, very much.
Ewa
With his pathetic appearance, Lucus scares away every passersby. People bypass him in disgust, looking away. One eye of this little kitty looks terrifying. I don’t know if there is still an eye there at all, because from between the eyelids, from under which pus drips, only a red, swollen strip of flesh is visible. Pus floods a large part of Lucus’ muzzle and his tiny body is covered with thick, old scabs, from between which blood oozes in places.
Lucus doesn’t even cry out for help. He sits quietly by the dumpster, because there he can at least take shelter from the rain and the people chasing him away and sometimes even find something to eat.
I was also horrified by Lucus’ appearance. I don’t know what’s wrong with him, but it looks terrible. I have to help him, because if I don’t, any day now he will join those dozens of nameless kittens who die on the streets in dumpsters from disease and starvation and Lucus will go away suffering. He will think that what he experienced – pain, hunger, fear and loneliness – is just life. That this is simply the way the world is. Because another life and another world Lucus has never known, so he can’t even imagine it.
I take Lucus in my arms, although I am also frightened and disgusted by his appearance, and go with him straight to the clinic. I know that without money they won’t treat Lucus, but maybe they will at least give him first aid.
The doctor agrees to pre-examine Lucus, so that at least it’s clear what’s wrong with him. He told me that this is the last moment if I want to save him. Almost all of Lucus’ skin is infested with scabies. The terrible, incessant itching causes the kitty to scratch incessantly and hence the bleeding scabs. The kitty’s eye has been attacked by harpovirus, and bacteria have entered the eye through constant scratching. Lucus has a high fever, and his body is very weakened by the bacterial infection. On top of all this, he still has diarrhea….
The doctor said that in this condition, if we do not start treatment quickly, the toddler will survive a maximum of 2-3 days. If we start to treat Lucus, there is a chance that he will recover, and we may even be able to save his eye.
Lucus needs to be at the clinic every day for the doctor to give him an antibiotic and an irrigation drip. In addition, at the clinic, they have to clean the eye of pus every day and administer a topical antibiotic to it as well. And as soon as Lucus’s condition is stabilized enough that it is not life-threatening, Lucus’s scabies-covered skin needs to be taken care of urgently.
But all this cannot be done without money.
Dear friends, please help Lucus. At the moment I took him home and try to at least relieve his suffering a little. I make cold compresses on his skin, wash his eye. But this won’t save Lucus if we don’t raise the money in time AND start full, intensive treatment. Therefore, Lucus can only count on you, on your help.
But if we succeed, perhaps for the first time in his life Lucus will feel that there can be life without suffering.
